What do I like best about the Albany Aaquarium? Where do I begin...Oh that's right, 14 years
ago when I was just 13 and wanted my first fish tank. My parents took me to Roger's house
and I picked out some fish, they would live, die, and I would get new from him over and
over (at 13 I would forget to feed them quite often, I admit it). I am now 27 with children of
my own who have an interest in fish and other aquarium items. I always take them to Roger
and let them pick out what they want, ask him what questions they have, and have him tell
them about the fish so they can take proper care. On my recent visit with all the kids in tow
they got to look at the fish, see the new things that have arrived and watch the salt water
tank for a few minutes. Roger made the comment that he hadn't seen me in a long time,
and my responce, I believe sums up the trust, confidence, and education provided by the
shop, I simply said, you don't sell me anything that dies, so I haven't needed anything in a
long time (long time being six months). I always buy my fish, food, decorations, and anything
else we need from there. I know if it doesn't work, or I have an issue, he'll be the one to
look it over and tell me what's wrong with it. That I can ask for a certain kind of fish and get
it when it's available. And trust that he'll be around for years to come as my children grow
up going to the "fish man" as he is known in our home.

There is not just one thing about your store that sets it apart.
SELECTION
KNOWLEDGE
PRICE N
(Cheapest I've found so far in Oregon) and get more for your money.
I would have to say my favorite thing is that you treat every person like they are your best
friend, very fun and kind. Always joking but very truthfull about everything and anything, no
matter what question you naloways give your honest answer (even if you could loose the sale
you would rather the person know the truth, and the best thing to do).
Oh, and I love your huge fish tank (THE ONE WITH THE BIG NEMO FISH) always amazing to
watch, that fish tank alone made me switch from fresh to saltwater,
and with your knowledge my fish are thriving.
Thanks Rog
So why should I go to Albany for stuff? Answer is simple yet profound.....CUSTOMER SERVICE!
You do not seem to be marketing in a "mass-market," "co-operate oriented." manner, but a n
"how can I help/please and give the customer what they want because the market is vastly different
with different people and tastes?
I believe you accomplish the want/need balance quite well, from "2nd hand deals"...to "order in advance"
specials, to mall of the regular items, fish, food, supplies, etc. at a what I believe to be a
far more reasonable (taking into account you handle quality, well kept species) price than the
"mall/coporate stores.
Yes, I do have to plan my journey to Albany from Salem, (it would be easier to go to the "mall")
but if you want good, old-fashioned (not referring to your age Roger) service with someone who
has good information about various aspects of the fish hobby, I know of no pl;ace better around,
that is why I will continue to 0pay for the gas to go to Albany.
Keep up the good work, appreciate what you do.
Roger, I have been coming in to your shop since I was in High School. And I still come into your
shop. I have two grandkids that I have brought with me many times. My grandson likes nto
come in a look at the Koi and then there is my grandaughter who likes to just have me chase her.
But the reason I have always come back is because you have great prices, your friendly to talk to,
and are very knowledgeable. I will keep coming back as long as you are open.

My kids are 5 & 7 years old. Like most kids they like the candy machine,Bettas, and looking into the large
open top Reef tub that is filled with Corla Frags and Anemonies.
Personally, I really like being able to buy fish stock bu the bag on delivery days. Thye l0ow prices
and having the ability to choose the livestock right off the truck is a huge plus for me.
It is also nice to know that if I need hardware or supplies you usually have it, or you bare willing to order it for me. I know that I will always get exactly what I want, and receive it within a couple of days after
ordering it from you.
I have never had as good customer service as I have from you over the past 20+ years.
You consistently deliver as advertised, and are always willing to change or replace anything
that is not completly to my satisfaction.
It is always a pleasure dealing with you.
Sincerly
John
I like that I can bring my 5 year old in to your shop and she see the tanks as most are down
low at her level. She loves the Cichlid tanks & the Clown tanks. I love that I always get a
wonderful price, email deals, & can trade stuff in that doesn't work. If Rogers store wasn't there,
I woulod have to drive to Portland or Eugene to get stuff in thaqt is way over-priced & and not on a
personal level. I would love to see amore diverse range of Corals, that's my only request.
With me only being in Saltwater tanks for a year now, I can come into the store & see everything I may need,
not just some of it. And he has used stuff, wow!

Hi Roger. I hope this reaches you. I have been coming into the shoppe since I was 12.
Now I am 25 and enjoy bringing my children in. Their favorite part of the store is the "Nemo Fish"
( I know they are Clown fish, but they think that is a lot of Nemo fish livinjg together).
I like the fact that the tanks are low enough the kids can see all kinds of fish and Sea Creatures.
I of course like the cheap prices and good advice! If I ever have questions I don'y hesitate to ask.
Even if the question is right above my head (hint the signs). Any way thanks so much.
There are many different things that I enjoy about the Amazing Aquarium. I never really
found rfish and the Ocean that amazing until I started up mty hobby with my Saltwater fish tank.
I enjoy looking at all the different types of fish you have available and I love the open tank
that has all the Live Rock, Coral, and Anemones. I finjd it fascinating that you can recreate an
Ocean and a Habitat in your own fish tank. Your shop offers things that many other places don't.
You offer affordable prices on equipment and livestock. Without many of your great deals my fish tank
would not be as wonderful as it is today. You also allow trade ins and trade ups which makes it just
that much better. My daughter also gets to come in and get to experience it as well. I believe this
stimulates her brain and learning. One of her first words was "fish". You also offer great advice that has definately added to the success of healthy fish and a beautiful set up! Before I would have been scarred to go Scuba Diving and look at ball the great things that Ocean has to offer.
Now that is one of the things that I want to do in my lifetme.
Thank You for all the great things :)
